GABA: Benefits, Dosage & Research
Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid, the brain's primary inhibitory neurotransmitter. Supplemental GABA promotes relaxation and reduces neural excitability, though debate exists about its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.
Source
Naturally produced in the brain from glutamate via the enzyme GAD (glutamic acid decarboxylase). Supplemental GABA is produced through fermentation. PharmaGABA (naturally fermented) may have better efficacy than synthetic.
